Connie Armock – Preschool

I started my teaching career here at Holy Trinity as a student teacher in Mrs. Signore’s

2nd grade class. After I completed my student teaching, I was hired to teach full day kindergarten at St. James Catholic School. I taught kindergarten and worked in the daycare after school at St. James until the school closed in 2006. I married my husband in June of 2006 and was a stay-at-home mom raising our three boys until the fall of 2021 when I returned to the classroom. I really enjoy teaching our preschoolers here at Holy Trinity!

I graduated from Aquinas College with a degree in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood Education, Reading, and Social Studies. I then continued my education at Western Michigan University with a focus on early childhood and reading classes.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and baking.

Lindsay Reens – Grade Kindergarten

This is my first-year teaching, and I am so excited to be a part of the Holy Trinity staff. I grew up on the westside of Grand Rapids and attended St. Anthony for elementary school and West Catholic High School. Go Falcons! I did my student teaching in a Kindergarten/first grade combined classroom. I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in May 2023 from Aquinas College. While I was at Aquinas, I also played on their golf team. I worked at Orchard Hill in their summer childcare program for the past three years. Additionally, I coach youth golf for the First Tee of West Michigan. I am looking forward to my first-year teaching and watching my students learn and grow as disciples of Christ.

Mary Grace Doyle – Grade 1

This is my first year teaching, and I am so excited to be a part of the Holy Trinity staff and community. The people I have met here have been so kind and welcoming. I cannot wait to continue to grow relationships with my students and their families at Holy Trinity. I grew up on the Northeast side of Grand Rapids and attended St. Thomas the Apostle for elementary school and Grand Rapids Christian for High School. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Aquinas College. While at Aquinas, I was on the women's swim team and enjoyed participating in clubs and IM sports.
I look forward to continuing to grow as a teacher and a member of this community as I help my students learn and build relationships with Christ.

Melissa Barngrover – Grade 2

I am so blessed to be part of the Holy Trinity family! My first two years here teaching 3rd grade were amazing and I have enjoyed my transition to 2nd grade and guiding my students on their faith journeys through the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

My husband Matthew and I moved to the Grand Rapids area in June 2020. We are from Tucson, Arizona where I was born and raised. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2014 with B.S. in Elementary and Special Education. I have experience teaching 3rd, 4th and 6th graders and working with students from grades K-8. I love spending time with my family in Spring Lake and our border collie, Calvin.

Bailey Poling - Grade 3

I could not be more excited to be in such a kind and welcoming community. These students have bright minds and opinions and every day I learn from them as well. Part of my goal as a teacher is to prepare my students for what they will encounter when they leave my classroom. I want them to feel confident that they have proper tools to learn and be whatever they want as they continue their education. I love creating lessons and finding ways to make the content more engaging.

I graduated from Spring Arbor University with my degree in Elementary Education and Integrated Science. I worked at St. Stephen in the summer childcare for four years and am grateful to continue my career in such a wonderful community with Holy Trinity.

Pam Ellis – Grade 4

I received my bachelor’s degree and a teaching certificate from Western Michigan University. I later went back to school and received a master’s degree in reading also from Western Michigan. I have worked at Holy Trinity my entire teaching career and have loved it because it is a smaller school.

I love meeting and getting to know so many wonderful students and families. The school community feels like a family! I have truly enjoyed teaching here at HT!

Zachary Hufnagel – Grade 5 Homeroom

I am so very excited to be a part of the Holy Trinity family! I am a recent graduate of Aquinas College and am so blessed to be here. I majored in Elementary Education, with a focus on social studies.

At Aquinas I loved playing IM sports, hammocking, and being a part of the Catholic clubs on campus. I am excited to dive into the classroom and bring experiences from college, directing a summer camp, my faith, and attending a Catholic Elementary/Middle school myself all together for the betterment of my students.

Jeff Readwin – Grades 6/7 Homeroom

I am the science and social studies teacher this year and am very excited to work with the Holy Trinity students! I am a graduate of Aquinas College, and this summer received my master’s degree from Grand Valley State University.

This will be my ninth year of teaching. My past teaching assignments include middle school science and math, and teaching in a resource room. I am married with three children. We are members of Our Lady of Consolation Parish in Rockford. My hobbies include family time, fishing and golfing.

My goal this year is to keep the learning desire burning within my students with the necessary support to be successful and become independent learners. I incorporate hands-on learning through labs and projects to facilitate deeper knowledge of subject material.

Kathy Rand – Principal

I entered the education field when there were more teachers than jobs, so colleges were advising a second career. Taking their advice, I graduated from Aquinas College with a math-science major and reading minor and a second major in accounting. I received my master’s degree from Grand Valley State University.

I taught second, fourth, fifth, and junior high reading before starting the kindergarten program at St. Anthony. I then became an administrator. This is my third school as an administrator. I love Holy Trinity with its family atmosphere and faith as a priority. I especially appreciate my hard working, dedicated staff, supportive parents, and the best students around. Every day we are all seeking to know, love, and serve God in all that we do.
