Altar Servers

Altar Servers for School Masses

Assisting at the altar is a rich and meaningful tradition in the Church, and at Holy Trinity School, we are proud to offer our students the opportunity to participate in this sacred ministry. Altar servers play an essential role in the liturgy, enhancing the quality of worship for the entire assembly. Through their participation in processions and their careful attention to the items needed for the celebration, altar servers help ensure that each Mass or liturgical service is reverently and smoothly conducted.

Who Can Serve?

Students in grades 5-8 have the opportunity to receive training and serve at school Masses, weekend Masses, and even funerals. This ministry provides a special way for students to grow in their faith while serving the Church community.

Why Serve?

  • Spiritual Growth: Altar serving allows students to become more engaged in the liturgy, deepening their understanding of the Mass and their personal relationship with God.

  • Leadership and Responsibility: Serving at the altar teaches students leadership, responsibility, and attention to detail—skills that extend far beyond the altar.

  • Community and Service: Altar servers play an important role in building a sense of community at Mass and other liturgical services. Their participation is a witness to the faith and a service to others.

Maximizing God-Given Talents

At Holy Trinity School, we believe in providing students with a variety of opportunities to share their God-given talents. Whether through serving at the altar or participating in other school ministries and activities, we encourage every student to discover how they can contribute to the life of the Church and our school community.

If your child is interested in becoming an altar server, we invite them to speak with our school’s liturgical coordinator to begin their training. It’s a wonderful way for them to participate in the life of the Church and to live out their faith in a meaningful way.
