Join the Holy Trinity School Band!

At Holy Trinity, we believe in fostering our students’ talents in all areas, including music. Science has shown that musical training can enhance brain development, improve long-term memory, and stimulate emotional and cognitive growth—especially when children begin at a young age. Participating in band not only allows students to experience the joy of making music, but it also helps them develop important skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

What You’ll Gain by Joining the Band

• Improved Brain Function: Music stimulates the brain in a powerful way, enhancing cognitive abilities and memory retention.
• Emotional Growth: Playing an instrument helps students build emotional expression and resilience, fostering a deeper connection to the music they create.
• Teamwork & Discipline: Band students learn to work together, listen to others, and perform as part of a team, all while practicing self-discipline to improve their individual skills.
• Performance Experience: Students participate in two major concerts a year—the first during Advent and the second in the spring—showcasing their hard work and talent to the school and community.

Program Details

• Grade Levels: Band is available to students in grades 5-8.
• Schedule: Band practice is held two mornings a week, with students being dropped off at West Catholic High School at 7:30 AM to rehearse with students from other Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids.
• Transportation: After band practice, students are bussed to Holy Trinity School by 8:25 AM via Catholic Secondary transportation, ensuring they get to school on time.
• Cost: The cost of participation varies, depending on the level of involvement and any additional instruments or supplies needed.
