Learn More About Our Student Council at Holy Trinity School

At Holy Trinity School, we believe that leadership is about more than just academics—it’s about making a positive impact in the school community and the wider world. Joining the Student Council is an excellent way for students to take on leadership roles, develop a sense of responsibility, and contribute to the betterment of others.

What is Student Council?

The Student Council is a group of dedicated students in grades 4-8 who are chosen to represent their peers. Serving on Student Council helps students go beyond their usual schoolwork to engage in activities that make a difference in the lives of others. It teaches them the value of teamwork, service, and leadership, while fostering a sense of pride in their school community.

How Can Students Get Involved?

  • Elections: Each year, students in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to run for Student Council. Candidates present themselves to the student body, and then classmates vote for two representatives who they feel will best represent their interests and help lead the school.

  • Monthly Meetings: The Student Council meets once a month during lunch to discuss ideas, research ways to support those in need, and plan activities that will enrich the school experience.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Fun Dress Days: One of the Student Council’s monthly initiatives is “Fun Dress Differently Days,” where students can dress out of uniform for a small donation ($1). The funds raised go towards a charity that the Student Council selects after researching different causes that need financial assistance.

  • Charity and Service: The Student Council is dedicated to helping those in need. Each year, the council selects a charity to support, raising funds through events like dress days and other creative fundraisers. The students work hard to decide where the money will go and how they can make a difference.

  • Improving the Holy Trinity Experience: The Student Council brainstorms ideas to make Holy Trinity School a better place for all students. From organizing events to suggesting improvements to school activities, the council works to create a more vibrant and inclusive school environment.

Why Join Student Council?

Being a part of the Student Council is not only about planning fun activities—it’s about developing leadership skills and learning the importance of service. Students gain a deeper understanding of how their actions can have a meaningful impact on others. By working together to make positive changes, students discover the power of giving back and the joy of seeing their efforts come to life.

We encourage all students in grades 4-8 to consider running for Student Council and take on the exciting challenge of becoming a leader in our school community. It’s a rewarding opportunity that allows students to see beyond their homework and exams, making a difference for their school and the world around them.
